The Award was created to recognize a healthcare provider/patient care advocate in the dermatology field who has provided value to patient care or research of atopic dermatitis (AD).
Korey was recognized for her dedication to research, education and patient care in the Atopic Dermatitis field. She is a mother of a child with moderate to severe eczema and the founder of Global Parents for Eczema Research (GPER), an international coalition of parents of children with moderate to severe eczema focused on advancing patient-centered research. GPER was created in 2015 with support from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
Korey has published numerous peer reviewed articles related to eczema that have explored topics such as medication adherence, burden, and patient priorities for research. She contributes to several national and international advisory committees and is a consumer representative to the Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drugs Advisory Committee of the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Korey was part of the leadership team that planned the Patient Focused Drug Development meeting on eczema in 2019.
