Dr. Baqai is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Baqai received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL where she also completed her internship year and ophthalmology residency. She then went on to complete her fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Baqai’s area of clinical subspecialty includes ocular surface disease, corneal transplantation, cataract extraction, and refractive surgery. She is the Assistant Residency Program Director at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology where she teaches clinical and surgical expertise to residents. As a dedicated educator, she received the Teacher or the Year Award in the Department of Ophthalmology in 2018. She has presented at numerous national and regional conferences and has authored peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters.
